Introduction

Welcome back, resellers! I'm Rubble, also known as the Rebel Reseller, and I'm here to share with you the second part of my recent sales report. In this article, I will also introduce some changes that I'll be implementing in my sales strategy moving forward. So let's jump right into it!

Changes in Sales Strategy

Starting next week, I'll be making some adjustments to the way I approach my weekend sales. Instead of just sharing what sold, I will also be demonstrating how I pack and ship different items. I've received many questions about this topic, especially when it comes to shipping plush toys. So, I want to provide more opportunities for new resellers to learn from my experience. While I may sometimes go overboard with packaging, I firmly believe in ensuring that buyers receive items exactly as they expect them. So, get ready for some informative and hands-on content in the coming weeks!

Providing Packaging Tips

When it comes to packaging, different items require different approaches. I'll be focusing on showcasing a variety of packing techniques for various items. Whether it's fragile collectibles or cuddly plush toys, I'll share my tried-and-true methods to ensure safe delivery. Remember, a little extra effort in packaging can go a long way in customer satisfaction and positive reviews.

Exploring High-Value Brands

Recently, I received a question from one of our Facebook community members about Build-A-Bear. Intrigued, I decided to delve into the world of this popular brand. To my surprise, I discovered some Build-A-Bear items that are selling for over a hundred dollars! This got me thinking about the importance of familiarizing ourselves with high-value brands. So, starting next week, I will dedicate at least one article per week to explore different brands and highlight items that are selling for a premium price. This will be a great learning experience for all of us, especially for those just starting out in the reselling world.

Sales Report: July 8th-10th

Now, let's dive into the sales report for the weekend of July 8th to 10th. Overall, it was a decent weekend with sales coming in from multiple platforms, predominantly eBay. I had the opportunity to sell a variety of items, from clothing to plush toys and more. Let's take a closer look at some of the standout sales.

Halloween and Christmas Sales

As we approach the holiday season, it's important to keep an eye out for seasonal items. I sold a Fitz and Floyd ghost with a jack-o'-lantern figure, which was originally part of a two-piece set. Despite missing its companion, this Halloween-themed collectible found a buyer for a quick sale of $20. Remember, it's never too early to list holiday items, as they tend to sell regardless of the season.

Clothing Sales and Tips

I had a successful clothing sale with a Dickies 3XL shirt. What started as a purchase of four shirts from a church sale turned into a recurring sale opportunity. A buyer initially purchased four shirts, but later realized I still had one more in stock. They sent me a best offer of $15, and I happily accepted. This emphasizes the importance of keeping your inventory organized and offering multiple variations of popular clothing items.

Unique Plush Finds

Plush toys continue to be a steady source of sales, especially when it comes to known brands like Gund and Russ. I sold a Gund Pusheen clip-on plush for $6.26, and a sad-eyed Russ cat plush for $22.45. It's worth mentioning that certain plush toys, such as the fluffy blue dog plush from Gund, can fetch higher prices due to their rarity. Keep an eye out for unique or lesser-known plush brands, as they can surprise you with their value.

Utilizing Vintage Collectibles

Vintage items always catch the attention of collectors and enthusiasts. I had success selling a vintage Dakin pillow pets fox plush from 1976 for $42.70 on Etsy. These nostalgic finds often have a strong market demand, so don't underestimate the value of vintage collectibles.

Selling Toys and Key Rings

Toys and key rings can be a profitable category, especially when it comes to branded items. A Hasbro Jurassic Park Pteranodon keychain sold for $29 on Mercari, proving that even small collectibles can fetch impressive prices. Additionally, I sold a set of Bradley dolls for $13.45 on Etsy, showcasing the potential in selling unique and lesser-known toy brands.

Strategies for Different Selling Platforms

As resellers, we need to understand the intricacies of different selling platforms. eBay, in particular, can present challenges with its shipping options. However, with the right approach, it can be mastered. I'll be sharing my strategies for navigating eBay's shipping options to ensure smooth transactions and customer satisfaction. Additionally, I will touch on the importance of utilizing platform-specific techniques to optimize your listings on platforms like Poshmark, Mercari, and Etsy.

Wrapping Up and Looking Ahead

That concludes this sales report and an overview of the changes I'll be implementing in the coming weeks. It's an exciting time to be in the reselling business, with holiday sales approaching and a focus on exploring high-value brands. Stay tuned for next week's article, where we delve into the fascinating world of Build-A-Bear and discover some surprising high-selling items. Remember, stay curious, keep exploring, and keep reselling!
