Hello everyone! I'm Rebecca from Chemnitz Creations, and I'm here to share some exciting news. I recently added new inventory to my Etsy store, and I can't wait to show you! In addition to some broken violet OxiClean treated yarn, we also have Wilton sparkle gel yarn from this week's Type-Up Weekly knitting project. Starting from the first night of Hanukkah on December 2nd, a new dyeing video will be released each night. Spinning Session

Now, let's take a break from the shop restock announcements and do a little spinning. Today, I'm going to make a two-ply yarn from some beautiful hand-dyed roving. This 100% Peruvian highland wool roving was dyed in a previous episode of Dye Pot Weekly. The colors are a medium or pale pink, which I over-dyed with food coloring. The resulting colorway is a stunning mix of teal, burgundy, lime green, and pink. As I spin, the colors blend together to create a unique and vibrant yarn.

Spinning yarn is a relaxing and meditative process. With each twist of the fiber, I create something new and beautiful. The wool of the Andes roving I'm using has a good crimp, making it easy to spin and allowing the fibers to stick together nicely. I prefer a short draw when spinning, as it gives me more control over the thickness and evenness of the yarn.

Spinning your own yarn is a wonderful way to customize your knitting and crochet projects. By selecting the fiber, dyeing it yourself, and spinning it to your desired thickness, you have complete creative control over your yarn. It's a truly satisfying and rewarding craft.
