Starting the Vlog a Little Bit Late

Hello lovely people and welcome back to my channel! Or hello if you're new, thank you so much for being here. I apologize for starting the vlog a little bit late this week. We are already in the afternoon of Wednesday. We had a bank holiday on Monday, so the week feels like it's gone by super quick. I didn't want the pressure of filming on the bank holiday, and yesterday, I didn't pick up the camera either because I wasn't doing anything particularly exciting. I did, however, pack a few orders because I wanted to get them out and not worry about moving the camera around. So yeah, this week is a bit quieter compared to last week, which was crazy with rushing to get my spring bundles out. The bundles have started arriving now, and I couldn't be happier. I worked really hard on them, and it's amazing to see people loving them and being satisfied with their purchase. I'm really proud of the boxes and how well they have sold. I'm also excited to create new and exciting things.

Plans for the Week

This week, my plan is to peel the rest of my "Every Step Is Growth" charms. I have already peeled a few, but I wanted to save the peeling process for the vlog as I find it therapeutic. I also need to check if I have enough keyring pieces for the charms. These charms will be turned into little keyrings, and I want to plan the packaging for them. I have been considering making them more eco-friendly by avoiding the use of cello bags. Instead, I want to package them on a card, which will be secure enough to protect them during shipping. I'll design a cute little backing card for them and use my new label maker to create labels for my box of postcards. This will make it easier for me to find the right postcard box when someone places an order. In addition to these tasks, I want to take things a bit easier this week and avoid burning myself out after a busy week of work.

Peeling Charms

I have just finished peeling the "Every Step Is Growth" charms, and I'm quite happy with the result. Although some of them had a little wooden piece stuck to them, they were not breaking as some might think. The wooden pieces were just cutouts that I needed to poke off. I have 50 of these charms, and I think they will do better than some of my other keyrings. It's great to have these charms in stock because I don't have to worry about making them when someone places an order. I can just pack them up and send them out. Overstocking is not a big issue for me, as I know the charms are ready to go whenever someone orders them. I feel proud of how they turned out, and they look incredible.

Designing Packaging for Key Rings

I have been brainstorming ideas for the packaging design of my new key rings. I want to create packaging that is both functional and visually appealing. I have tried a few different options using small square paper shapes to simulate the size of the packaging. After trying out various designs, my favorite one so far is a rectangle cutout at the top where the keychain will go through. This design minimizes movement and provides a secure placement for the key rings. I also plan to use a thicker card to make the packaging more durable and less flimsy. Additionally, I am considering adding the "Every Step Is Growth" label onto the rectangle cutout to guide me when cutting the lines. This will ensure consistency in the design and make the packaging process smoother. I will continue to refine and measure the design before testing it on the actual size of the key rings.

Labeling Postcard Boxes

One of my tasks for today is to label my postcard boxes using my new label maker. I have already labeled all the boxes with different quotes and themes relevant to each set of postcards. This will make it easier for me when packing orders, as I no longer need to search through every box to find the right postcard. The labels add a touch of personalization to the packaging and help me stay organized. I'm very happy with how they look, and they have added to the overall aesthetic of the boxes. The label maker I used is affordable and easy to use, making the labeling process quick and efficient. I highly recommend it for small business owners or anyone who wants to add a professional touch to their packaging.

Refreshing Etsy Listings

I have made the decision to take off some of the listings on my Etsy shop. Some of these listings have been on my shop since I opened three years ago, and I feel that they no longer represent the quality and aesthetic I strive for. The photos are not the best, and the items don't bring me the level of happiness I want when looking at my products. In addition, these listings are not selling well, and I end up paying more in renewal fees than the revenue they generate. As a small business owner, it is crucial to love the products you create and offer on your shop. I want to feel excited when someone orders something from my shop, and I believe that starts with having listings that I truly love. Therefore, I am taking the opportunity to refresh my shop by removing old listings and retaking photos for the ones I want to keep. It may be a little sad to take some of the listings down, but it is a necessary step towards creating a shop that I am content and proud of.

Tidying up the Workspace

Before moving on to the next task, I need to tidy up my workspace. It has become a bit messy with various tools and materials spread around. I have been using my Cricut machine, and the remnants from previous projects need to be cleared away. Tidying up my workspace not only makes it more visually appealing, but it also helps me work more efficiently. Having a clean and organized environment allows me to focus better and find the tools and materials I need more easily. It doesn't take long to tidy up, but it makes a significant difference in my productivity and mindset.

Using the Cricut Machine

I have some sticker cutting to do with my Cricut machine. I have a client who needs stickers for an event, and I need to fulfill that request. Sometimes I forget about these tasks, so I have to ensure that I prioritize them. The Cricut machine is a great tool that helps me create professional-quality stickers with ease. It allows me to cut precise shapes and designs, saving me time and effort compared to cutting them manually. Once I finish cutting the stickers, I will pack them up and send them to my client to meet their requested deadline. It's essential to stay on top of client orders and ensure their satisfaction with the products and services I provide.

Taking Off Unpopular Listings

I have spent some time going through my Etsy listings and deciding which ones to take off. As mentioned earlier, there are some listings that have been on my shop for a while and haven't been selling well. I believe it is necessary to remove these listings from my shop to reduce the cost of renewal fees and focus on more popular and profitable items. Some of these listings include nursery prints, dinosaur prints, giraffe prints, and cow prints that I feel no longer align with my current design style and aesthetic. Additionally, I will be removing old sticker packs and items that have outdated packaging or logos. I want to feel content and excited about everything in my shop, and removing these listings will help me achieve that. It's important to refresh and update your offerings to stay relevant and attract customers who resonate with your brand.
