Etsy Orders: A Walkthrough of Angela's Work Process

Welcome back to Angela's channel! In today's video, we join Angela as she fulfills some of her Etsy orders. It's another "work with me" video, but this time, she's combining the processes of sublimation and embroidery to complete the orders. Angela has received three or four tumbler orders, as well as nine or ten kids' sublimation back to school shirts and some embroidered kit shirts for birthdays and back to school occasions.

Angela sets the scene by mentioning that Roman, her son, is taking a nap but might wake up soon. As it's been over two hours since he fell asleep, Angela is eager to get a video out for her viewers. She begins by focusing on the sublimation shirts, given the hot weather at a scorching 98 degrees. Angela shares that her heat press is currently set at 385 degrees, which is her preferred temperature for sublimation shirts. She explains why it's essential to turn off the heat press and turn on the fan between different processes to prevent lint, dirt, and fibers from getting on the shirts.

Angela opts to show the process through a time-lapse video, interrupting it to discuss specific changes she has made since her last video. She highlights that she incorporates suggestions and feedback from her audience, encouraging them to leave any comments, questions, or suggestions for her to address. Angela mentions that she has been working all weekend, with her husband Ken assisting in making some sweatshirts. However, she has accumulated many sublimation shirt orders, which she aims to fulfill promptly to prevent any backlog on Etsy.

To optimize her time, Angela shares her method of packaging shirts while the heat press is in use. Although she does the final packaging afterward, this approach helps save time. She demonstrates the packaging process, showcasing how she puts the shirts in bags and sets them aside for later. Angela mentions that she recently released sublimation bodysuits, which feature lap shoulders and are available in sizes ranging from zero to three months up to 12 to 18 months. She emphasizes the softness and stretchiness of these bodysuits, which can also be found on her website, AJ Blanks.

Moving on to sublimation transfers, Angela explains her unique cutting technique, eliminating any white border on the designs. She mentions that she uses less tape compared to others, finding it more effective for her workflow. Instead of using the chopper paper method, Angela prefers to rely on her own judgment and precision when wrapping the designs around the tumblers. She shares that she uses 20-ounce skinny tumblers, which are available on AJ Blanks and ship within two days.

Angela demonstrates her taping method, focusing on capturing how she secures the design on the tumbler. She uses a plastic blade to flatten and smooth out any seams, ensuring a neat and professional finish. Throughout the process, Angela emphasizes that she does what works best for her and her customers' satisfaction, rather than conforming to specific approaches.

As Angela finishes tumbling the last tumbler, she explains that the heat in the room is becoming unbearable, preventing her from continuing with the embroidery process. She assures her audience that she will complete the embroidery part in another video, apologizing for the disappointment. Angela appreciates her viewers' relentless support and promises to address their requests for videos on taping tumblers and her printing settings for sublimation.

In conclusion, Angela showcases a successful day of fulfilling Etsy orders. She shares her experience with using a specific thread brand and expresses satisfaction with its performance. Angela bids farewell to her viewers as she seeks relief from the oppressive heat within her workspace. She thanks them for their ongoing support and invites them to leave any further questions or suggestions in the comments section.
