Packing Orders with Me: How I Run My Etsy Business
Welcome back to my YouTube channel, everyone! In this video, I'll be taking you behind the scenes of my Etsy shop, Kelly Prepster Studio, as I pack and fulfill a bracelet order. For those of you who are new here, let me give you a quick introduction. My name is Kelly, and I've been running my Etsy shop for about five years now. I recently started this second channel to share the process and excitement of creating Etsy content and making bracelets.
How I Started my Etsy Shop
About five years ago, I decided to turn my passion for bracelet making into a small business on Etsy. It all started as a hobby, but as the demand grew, I decided to take it to the next level. Since then, I've been creating and selling handmade bracelets, and it has been such a rewarding experience.
Why I Created a Second YouTube Channel
After sharing a few videos about my Etsy shop on my main channel, I realized that there was a lot of interest in the process behind bracelet making. So, I decided to launch a second YouTube channel dedicated solely to showcasing my Etsy content and sharing the techniques and tips I've learned along the way. It's been a great way to connect with fellow bracelet enthusiasts and inspire others to create with me.
Packing Orders with Me
Today, I have a special order of 10 bracelets to pack and fulfill. It's been a while since I last made bracelets, so I'm really looking forward to diving back into the process. If you have any bracelet themes you'd like to see in future videos, please let me know in the comments below – I'd love to hear your suggestions.
The Bracelet Making Supplies I Use
Before we get started, let me show you the supplies I use for making bracelets. First, I have my bead drawer, which contains all the colorful beads I'll be using today. I recently switched to using Crystal Tech string, which is 0.8 millimeters thick. It provides better durability and stability compared to the thinner stretch magic string I used before. Additionally, I have a pair of scissors and bead containers to keep my beads organized.
My Favorite Beads
For today's order, I'll be using a mix of regular colorful beads and special custom beads. The special beads are of higher quality and have a unique design. They are sourced from Amazon, and I'll include the link to them in my Amazon storefront for those interested. I find that using these special beads adds a special touch to my bracelets and makes them truly one-of-a-kind.
Special Custom Orders
Each bracelet in today's order will have three special beads incorporated into its design. These custom beads have been selected by the customer, and I think they're going to look adorable. Custom orders like these allow me to create personalized pieces and bring a smile to my customers' faces.
Threading Techniques for Bracelets
Now, let's get down to the fun part – making the bracelets! I'm going to show you my technique for threading the beads. I like to keep the string on the roll and start threading the beads from the bottom. Once all the beads are on the string, I'll cut it and tie it to secure the bracelet. This technique ensures a snug fit and prevents the beads from falling off.
Writing Thank-You Notes
I believe in expressing gratitude to my customers, so I always include a handwritten thank-you note with each order. It's a small gesture, but it goes a long way in building a strong relationship with my customers. I'll be using these cute thank-you cards to write personalized messages to each recipient, expressing my appreciation for their support.
Packaging and Shipping
With the bracelets complete and the thank-you notes written, it's time to package and ship the order. I'll be using small baggies to keep the bracelets secure and bubble mailers for added protection during shipping. Once everything is safely packed, I'll weigh the package and print off a shipping label. This ensures a smooth and efficient shipping process.
