Introduction

Welcome back to my channel! Today, I am excited to take you on a journey into my Etsy-themed video. Many of you may not know that my husband and I own a small Etsy shop. In this video, I will be showing you the behind-the-scenes of how I package an order and giving you a tour of my office workspace. Our shop specializes in rocks, minerals, crystals, and jewelry supplies in the rock and mineral category. So, let's dive into the exciting world of Etsy and explore the ins and outs of running an online shop.

1. About the Etsy Shop

Our Etsy shop, Dragons Den Minerals, is a passion project that my husband and I started. We chose this name to match the Dragon theme because my husband owns a mining claim called The Forgotten Dragon. This unique connection to the mining world sets us apart and adds a touch of adventure to our products. We offer a wide range of items, including rocks, minerals, crystals, and jewelry supplies. Our goal is to share our love for these natural treasures with fellow enthusiasts while providing excellent customer service and high-quality products.

2. Office Workspace Tour

Let's take a virtual tour of my office workspace. This area is where the magic happens – from posting listings to preparing orders for shipment. My main desk is where I have my computer set up, allowing me to manage our Etsy shop efficiently. On the computer, I have our Etsy shop pulled up, where I can easily access our listings, monitor orders, and communicate with customers. Surrounding my desk, I have shelves filled with inventory, organized and ready to be shipped. These shelves display a wonderful assortment of rocks, minerals, and other unique items that we offer in our shop.

3. Packaging an Order

Now, let's dive into the process of packaging an order. Today, I have an order for two Opals, and it's the perfect opportunity to show you how we carefully package our products. To begin, I select the Opals that the customer has chosen from our listing. Each Opal is individually wrapped in bubble wrap for extra protection during shipping. I then place the wrapped Opals in a black baggie, along with a freebie stone to add a special touch to the package. Lastly, I include a thank you card with a discount code for the customer's next order. The package is now ready to be sealed and labeled for shipping.

4. Inventory and Product Display

Let's explore our inventory and product display. Our office space features shelves filled with a variety of rocks, minerals, crystals, and unique treasures. The top shelves are adorned with decorative items such as cute treasure boxes and black tissue paper for extra flair. These add a touch of aesthetic appeal while serving as a visual representation of the beautiful products we offer. The lower shelves store additional inventory that is yet to be listed in our shop. It's always exciting to see our collection grow and watch as new items are added to our online store.

5. Shipping Supplies and Process

Now, let's talk about the supplies we use for shipping and the process we follow. We stock up on various shipping essentials, such as bubble wrap, tape, and black bubble mailers. These materials ensure that our products are well-protected during transit. When fulfilling an order, we start by rolling the item in bubble wrap to ensure its safety. We then secure it with tape and wrap it in black tissue paper for a sleek presentation. To add a personal touch, we include a freebie stone and a thank you card. Finally, we label the package and prepare it for shipment.

6. Cleaning and Preparing Opals

The Opals we offer require special attention to ensure their presentation and quality. Before packaging an order, we clean and prepare the Opals for shipping. Some of the Opals come in plastic containers with sticky residue from past labels. To remove the residue, we use rubbing alcohol and carefully clean each Opal. This step ensures that the Opals are pristine, free from any sticky or unwanted marks. Once cleaned, the Opals are ready to be wrapped and packaged for shipping.

7. Wrapping and Packaging

When it comes to wrapping and packaging, we take great care to provide a secure and appealing presentation. We begin by wrapping the Opals in bubble wrap to protect them during transit. The bubble wrap serves as a cushioning barrier, guarding against any potential damage. After wrapping, we enclose the Opals in a black baggie, ensuring they remain together and enhancing the overall aesthetic. The final step is to seal the baggie and prepare it for placement in a black bubble mailer. This meticulous process guarantees that our customers receive their orders in perfect condition.

8. Including Freebies and Thank You Cards

One of our priorities is to delight our customers, which is why we include freebies and thank you cards with every order. To make each package feel special, we hand-select a small stone or crystal to include as a gift. This extra surprise adds value to the customer's purchase and shows our appreciation for their support. Additionally, we insert a thank you card with a discount code for their next order. These small gestures help foster a positive customer experience and encourage repeat business.

9. Labeling and Shipping

With the package all set and ready, it's time for labeling and shipping. We currently print our labels on regular printer paper, but we plan to invest in a label maker in the future for a more professional finish. After printing and cutting the label, we carefully tape it onto the package, ensuring that all important barcodes are visible. Once the label is securely attached, the package is ready to be dropped off at the post office for shipping to its new owner.

10. Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed this behind-the-scenes look at our Etsy shop and the process of packaging an order. Running our little business brings us joy, and we appreciate every customer who supports us. If you have any requests for future Etsy-themed content, please let us know. We are eager to continue sharing our passion for rocks, minerals, crystals, and jewelry supplies with you. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I'll see you in the next video. Bye!
